Meet Our Artists

Originally from Nelson, BC, Sean began tattooing in Quesnel in 1992 when he opened Ninpinin Tattoo. In 2000, Sean relocated to Vancouver Island. In the 19+ years that Sean has been living on the Island, he has pursued his art and profession in the Comox Valley, developing close bonds with many long term clients. Consulting with clients around their inspiring ideas, drawings, pictures or reference art, and then creating the artwork that will become their tattoo, is a creative challenge the keeps Sean inspired. “It lights and stokes my creative fires,” Sean explains, “Tattoo application is an art in itself and each tattoo session is a personal experience for the person receiving the tattoo.”      

Ready to tackle any style his clients might request of him, he particularly enjoys realism and bold colour with a keen interest in black and grey and "pieces with an organic flow".

Born in Vancouver and raised in the Comox Valley, Sheila was professionally trained and certified (with top marks) by Fogg at “Next” in Vancouver, BC in 2003. She loves to help her clients reach their self beautification needs with friendly and professional service. Always providing above and beyond follow up and proper healing attention to each and every client.

Constantly expanding her knowledge of the industry, she remains focused on her education and knowledge in the piercing field whenever possible. She endeavors to meet the variety of body modifications her clients request of her with the professional care she has become known for.

After originally completing an apprenticeship under Sean in 2008, Ian went on to pursue a career as a multi medium artist. He is a sponsored artist with his artwork featured in magazines. Specializing in airbrush and custom paint work, his creative drive also includes exploring painting, digital art, sculpting, wood burning, bone carving and studying all things related to fine arts. His airbrush work has led him to into painting motorcycles, helmets, hard hats, instruments, computer towers, goalie masks, murals, vehicles, and even prosthetics. After a decade of airbrush work, in 2022 Ian decided to return to tattooing here at Vancouver Island Tattoos to pursue applying all the artistic knowledge he has gained over the years. He loves to produce high quality art and original concepts, his passion for art ranges from everything wildlife to skulls and dark arts. While grey scale is his go to, he is excited to start working on full colour and micro realism tattoos.
